10 Unique things to do in Las Vegas

When thinking about things to do in Vegas, we’re sure things like: gambling, seeing strippers, and going to pool parties, clubs and stage shows, all come to mind. While doing these things are certainly fun, we also like to seek out things that are a bit more unique. Here we share 10 unique things to do in Las Vegas (in no particular order):

Take a preview of a few of the things listed here in our latest video

1. Shoot “real life” zombies

Apocalypse Vegas feels like a real life video game. Armed with an airsoft gun, your mission is to find and shoot zombies (who are real life actors) to prevent the spread of a virus that will kill mankind.  Former special ops provide combat training, including how to kick down doors and sweep the room.

(Apocalypse Vegas, +1-844-292-5076, https://apocalypsevegas.com/ from $120USD, 4375 S. Valley View Blvd. Open: Thursday – Sunday 9am-9pm).

2. Get a cupcake out of an ATM

Feel like something sweet in the middle of the night? Well you are in luck! Vegas has a 24 hour ATM that dispenses cupcakes. There are 4 ATMs located at McCarren Airport priced at $4.50USD per cup cake.

3. View an exclusive art exhibition

Hidden within Louis Vuitton at The Crystals, Aria, is an exclusive light art exhibition by James Turrell called Akhob. Bookings need to be made months in advance and a maximum of 6 people are allowed through at any one time. After entering a secret elevator, signing disclaimers and gearing up in plastic booties you stand in a room for 20 mins while different colours wash over you. It is interesting as you transition from a meditative state to one of discomfort as the intensity of the light and colour changes. Oh and we forgot to mention it is free!

Tip #1: If you haven’t been able to get an advanced booking try your luck by calling while in town. There are often last minute cancellations.

Tip #2: It is a little tricky to find the meeting spot. Go inside the Louis Vuitton shop and go down to the ground level. You will see an escalator and a Louis Vuitton trunk. This is where the staff member will meet you. If you are unsure, just let a staff member know you are there to see the art installation.

(Akhob, +1-702-730-3150, http://archive.jamesturrell.com/artwork/akhob/ , FREE admission, Louis Vuitton @ The Crystals, Aria. Open Thursday – Monday 11:30am – 7:30pm. Call for bookings).

4. Get spanked if you don’t finish your food

Down on Freemont street (also known as the old Vegas), you can find a very interesting themed restaurant called Heart Attack Grill.

When you see the sign out the front that diners over 350lbs (or 159kgs) eat for free, then you know it is going to be a strange restaurant! Customers gear up in hospital gowns, while the wait staff dress as sexy nurses. Wine comes in IV drips and the burgers here are big! Only order what you can eat, because if you don’t finish your meal you are in for a spanking! Even if you do manage to finish your meal, you can still get a spanking if you ask nicely (just ask Dean).
